Hi all,

is it possible to change the width of the grid where desktop icons are aligned (if this option is activated)? For my personal taste this grid is much too large.

Mario

Hi,

I can try to share my experience about that.
For SuSE 9.2 and earlier, you can adjust the X Grid sise while adding :

GridXSpacing=<value in pixels>

in the [DesktopIcons] entry of the file :
~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals

The Y spacing is related to the size of the desktop font and to the size of desktop icons.

With SuSE 9.3 the GridXSpacing entry is of no use, but you are able to adjust the X spacing
in the desktop configuration menu.

In order to shorten the Y spacing I use the following way :
- I activate the grid align option for the icons
- I choose 22 pixels icons and a 9 points font
- I align my icons as I want
- I desactivate the grid align option
- I come back to 32 pixels icons and 10 points font

and everything looks as I want.

Michel.
