Does it help if you change the "Exec" line in gnome.desktop to
Exec=/opt/gnome/bin/gnome-session
Sorry List, but i have to answer in german ...
Ich kann an der gnome.desktop nichts ändern weil ich es nicht öffnen kann. Ich sag doch, es handelt sich nicht um ein script sondern um eine executable ( so eine mit nem Zahnradsymbol ;-);-) )
It is a text file:
$ file /opt/kde3/share/apps/kdm/sessions/gnome.desktop /opt/kde3/share/apps/kdm/sessions/gnome.desktop: ASCII text
So you can modify it with any text editor, as long as you're root.
Wow, you'r absolutly right ... The Opttion to open it was'nt shown up in the Kontexmenue, but with kedit as root i could open it . I changed the Variable for Exec and for TryExec to Exec=/opt/gnome/bin/gnome-session TryExec=/opt/gnome/bin/gnome-session and GNOME was back, here we are. I'm really sorry for could'nt beliefe in what you tryed to explain me, for the next time my mind will hopefully a little bit more open ... Thanks a lot, you brought me back Gnome and .... you know Micha
