Hello all,
I've this weird problem with my SUSE 9.1 pro. Every now and then when I log out KDE it freezes. The computer is so dead that I can't even do anything and I have to restart it. I'm not sure where I must start to debug it. I couldn't find uot anything wrong in /var/log/messages just before the freezing.I have a samba server 3.0.9-2.6 on it but apart from that I'm not doing any kind of networking. I have installed all the pathces via YaST but see no Difference. I would be grateful if somebody could shed light on it.
Hi, I have had these issues on and off and have found it is to do with the graphics driver. See if there is a newer version; esp. for NVIDIA as I found this cleared it up the last time.
Hamid, I believe you said you were using XFree on SuSE 9.1? I reinstalled my Xorg files and the crashing stopped. Try downloading Xfree rpm's again and run: rpm -Fv xfree-files*.rpm. Let us know if that helps any. -- Jake Sallee spark@breathdedeeply.com www.breathedeeply.com Registered Linux User #358012 http://counter.li.org
