Any time I open Konqueror with either 'file:/' or with the root folder in the tree view panel, it locks up. It doesn't matter whether I do it as a user or root. When I close the Konqueror window with the close button, after a 10 or 15 seconds I get a dialog box with the following:
Window with title "craig - Konqueror" is not responding. This window belongs to application konqueror (PID=7087, hostname=localhost). Do you wish to terminate this application? (All unsaved data in this application will be lost.)
Any ideas what might be the problem? Where would I look for the config files and log files for Konqueror?
Thanks, Craig

Maybe you need to clean out your /tmp directory? Usually it's best to drop down to init 1, rm -rf /tmp/*, then back to init 5. Don't mistype your "rm" command or you could find yourself removing the /tmp directory altogether, not good.

No luck. I get the same results after clearing the /tmp directory.
Just a shot in the dark, but is there a .desktop file there? Maybe do a "ls -l /" and see if there are any extra file that could be messing with it. I have SuSE 9.1 Pro and my "/" only contains directories and no files. Also, does this also happen with any other user account or while logged in as root? Alvin
