How smooth is the KDE update from the "supplementary branch"?

Hi there, I've never updated KDE from the supplementary branch on the ftp server so far and would like to give it a try, updating KDE 3.1.4 on SuSE 9.0 to 3.3. Do the packages from the supplementary KDE update break anything, e.g. susewathcer?
