Hi Randell, It seems to be any URL. I also usually use Smart for popup windows but it seems it not set so i'll set it again and retry but i'll have to do that later today, i should have left for work already. Thanks for the help. I will email to confirm if it works (or not). regards Ian On Tuesday 26 Oct 2004 00:37, Randall R Schulz wrote:

HI
Konqueror has developed a problem when I try and load a link from Kmail, it just keeps opening up new instances. As soon as you close one, another opens or if you don;t close them they still load up. The only way to cure it is to log off. I don't have time to check anything as it loads every second.
I use Suse 91 and KDE 3.3.1 - i'm not sure when this started as I rarely use Konqueror, i ususally copy the link into Opera.
Does anyone have any ideas as what to do with this reloading issue?
Does this happen no matter what URL you visit, or is it specific to a particular Web address? If the latter, it's probably some kind of malware that opens a new window (using JavaScript code) when the window showing that page is closed.
If that is actually what's happening, you can disable that particular JavaScript feature in Konqueror by doing this:
- Settings -> Configure Konqueror - Select "Java & JavaScript" on the left - Select the JavaScript tab on the right - Change the setting of the "Open new windows" as you best see fit. "Deny" will stop all pop-up windows. I usually find "Smart" (or, more precisely, it's Mozilla equivalent) to be adequate and least disruptive. That setting will open windows when the open request derives from a mouse click, but not otherwise.
Thanks
Ian
Good luck.
