Hi! I want to make a few comments on this, because at the moment I use also SuSE 9.1 and there seems to be a few different things.
-rws--x--x 1 root root 281356 2002-10-08 21:30 /usr/bin/cdrecord -rws--x--x 1 root root 614426 2002-10-15 00:04 /usr/bin/cdrdao
So maybe you should do a "chmod 4711 cdrecord cdrdao".
I have no problems to burn a CD, although I have user rights and the cdrecord is "-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root".
Thorsten, why do you not do what k3b proposes you to do to solve this problem: "Lösung: Verwenden Sie den K3b-Einrichtungsassistenten zur Lösung dieses Problems."
The SuSE-Distribution has no K3b-Setup program, so he can't use it (-> k3b Update).
So just do it, run it, run the k3b setup assistant, and it should do it for you!
I can't say why he can't burn a CD. I know, that the Kernel 2.6.8x has problems with k3b (not the problem here, I know). Under packman.links2linux.de there are new rpm's for SuSE 9.1. Perhaps this is a solution for Thorsten. Greetings, Carsten
