I could use some help as well. I just upgraded to Mozilla Firefox v-0.9.3 on one of my desktop PCs using SuSE's rpm, MozillaFirefox-0.9.3-0.1.i586.rpm. Now Firefox won't start. I'm sure the fix is very easy. I just can't seem to find the answer right now.
Please disregard. Premature post.
xhost + and restarting X fixed the problem just like SuSE Portal says. <sigh>
What the hell has a 'xhost +' to do with a browser start?
Why the hell haven't you read the following file? ;P http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/projects/mozilla/firefox/READ... The problem and the solution is explained there. If you follow the instructions like I did, you will enjoy Firefox in no time like I do now. ;)
'xhost +' opens your X to the world. I don't beleve, that SuSE Portal suggest this.
It is *very* temporary. You should now by now as you should have read the file I mentioned. ;)
Du you run Firefox as a different user? In this case 'sux' is the better choice.
Maybe that is a good alternative. Cheers, Leen
