I have the very same problem
Woohoo, I'm not alone :) . Better yet I've found the cause thanks to Andrä Steiner. Andrä emailed me saying they had the same problem, but uninstalling kdebase-SuSE fixed it. Of course that gets rid of all the nice SuSE graphics too. So I noticed that the last kpart loaded by konqueror was the RPM viewer kpart and guess what's in kdebase-SuSE... libkrpmview.so. So I moved /opt/kde3/lib/libkrpmview.* out of any library path and hey presto Konqueror is working again! There must be an incompatibility with that kpart now in QT or something. Thanks again Andrä for pointing me in the right direction.
Maybe it's a problem with the builds for 9.0? I downloaded the source of kdebase3 (only) and am considering recompiling although I hesitate to do so for various reasons.
Yeah, I like to stick to the precompiled RPMs to keep everything standard. I generally like SuSE's support. Now if I could only get my desktop icons to stop shifting down every login because of the kicker panel I have at the top of my screen, get the Jabber plugin back in kopete and have all the screensavers start to work again, I would finally have a fairly bug free KDE. :) -- Colin Pinkney http://www.cpinkney.org.uk
