We are each connected directly to the router, three computers. The other two are still running Windows and work just fine. All can surf at the same time with no problems.
If I reboot back to Windows, Outlook [ Office 2000 Pro ] doesn't have any problem whatsoever connecting and downloading mail with the settings I sent in the first of this thread:
pop.swbell.yahoo.com - Port 110 smtp.sbc.yahoo.com - Port 25 - Authentification Required
So I know the settings are right to reach my mail server.
I kind of feel like there is something in the settings that I am missing. I can use Konqueror to read my mail online with no problems. It's like KMail is sending something eronneous or not looking in the right place for something. Maybe Yahoo is just mad at KMail *<[:oD or at my computer.
I don't know if I eversent the actual error messages or not.I was getting different ones but lately it seems to have settled on these:
Incoming - "Could not connect to host pop.swbell.yahoo.com"
Billie, this looks like an authentication problem. You might try reentering your password. Rich
Outgoing - "Sending failed: Unknown host smtp.sbc.yahoo.com The message will stay in the 'outbox' folder until you either fix the problem (e.g. a broken address) or remove the message from the 'outbox' folder. Note: Other messages will also be blocked by this message, as long as it is in the 'outbox' folder The following transport protocol was used: Outgoing"
Maybe that gives a clue. I dunno.
