Thanks the advice Patrick. Actually my two was of
transfering information to my laptop are through USB
(web camera) and USB/DVD-R/DVD-RAM video camera. It is
good to know though that if I had a still camera I
could us a card reader and have it recognised as
another loadable disk device.

I don't think we are on the same page :) I am looking for software for a digital camera/web camera that runs on Linux. I have a web cam for instant messenger images and a digital video and stills camera also a printer to print them. I don't understand how
