There is an annoying message that appears few seconds after the KDM login and while there is still the KDE splash screen. It is a borderless grey windows which says in dark gray bold fonts:
Unhandled event :0
The windows disappears automagically in less than a second and KDE loads with no pain.
I got that too and I fixed it. I think it is the resmgr process that is causing that. With the update to KDE 3.2 the new resmgr seems to like restarting bluetooth that I have setup on my PC. By default SuSE 9.0 loads the Bluetooth kernel modules hci_usb, hci_uart, and hci_vhci. I only needed hci_usb, so I thought one of them may have been causing an error and I removed hci_uart and hci_vhci from /etc/rc.d/bluetooth. After that the problem went away. resmgr seems to manage quite a few things so if you do not use Bluetooth you might want to look in /var/log/messages just after logging in to KDE and look for resmgr activity and possible related errors.
