Is there a command that I can run which will save my current kde session? (without having to log off...)
My machine locked up this weekend and the last time I had logged out of kde was 2 weeks ago. After rebooting and logging in I was faced with alot of web pages and programs open that I had been active 2 weeks ago, I would much prefer to see what I had been working on recently.
Perhaps a command that could be run as a cron job.
I often feel as if I've been dropped in everyones kill file... googling eventually led me to a similar question on the debian list, the reply If you have selected "restore manually saved session" in kcontrol under "session manager" - you will get a "save session" on the K menu. This at least allows me to save the session (The khelp manual really doesn't go so far as to tell you what happens when you choose "restore manually saved session" in kcontrolcenter, only that you have the option but no mention of the menu selection being added. on dot.kde.org I found dcop ksmserver default saveCurrentSession I assume this is the command I would put into a cron job but I think I'll investigate a little further first.
