Did you upgrade Xfree86 (or QT) at the same time that you upgraded kde? There were font problems associated with the original Xfree86 updates, I don't know how well they have been smoothed out, Im running 4.2.
What happens when you try to select your own (new) custom fonts. Are choices available in the dropdown lister?
Well David, I finally stumbled on the answer, although it makes little sense to me. Oliver, you and Patrick O'Smith have the right idea. It has to do with fonts but it was the fixed width font that was the culprit! You would think that Custom Fonts in the Message Body would be where things should be set, but the actual problem was fixed by going to the Fixed Width Font and playing with various ones until the print appeared. I finally settled on Console Regular. I had noticed that in the Control Center Fonts, the fixed width hole was blank and I could not get anything in there UNTIL I didled the stuff in KMail configuration. Now I can choose a fixed width font from the Control Center. It feels kinda like trying to cut the heads off a bunch of snakes. Each one is wrapped around the others. Can anyone explain how setting KMail fonts have an effect on the Control Center Fonts?? Or is it just coincidence?? Anyway, thanks to all for your help, again. Richard
