I found this out a few days ago. The only way I could fix it was to reinstall
the previous version of kde-network mail.(from 3.1.1-35 to 3.1.1-6). I
haven't reported it because i wasn't sure to whom it should be reported.

where did you find the 3.1.1-6 rpms? i would like to try the same.

Anyway, you could subscribe to bugzilla in kmail.kde.org (developer mailing list). I already opened a bug number for this case, and would like someone to confirm the issue.

Did you use apt tp update recently?
Just wondering if it was a new suse thing or a kde issue.
Do you have the new XFree86 installed?
I have an inkling that it needs that, but I'm probably wrong.
