Hi,

Decided to write once more over my background issue (see below). Thanks
Stu for his suggestion, but wish there were a more robust solution for
this. Just reinstalled SuSE 8.1 again from scratch on my laptop, and
this problem continues. Don't know whether this is a bug, or some
mistake on my part.

One more thing. If I delete the icons from my desktop, any idea how can
I start those applications via Bookmark? Adding them to bookmarks by
right-clicking puts them in the directory ~/Desktop as .desktop files,
and will be deleted if I delete the icons from the screen.
