KDE Address Book is sloooowwwww!...

I imported my Outlook Express address book into the KDE Address Book today, by
first exporting the data into a file of type CSV. While importing the data, I
noticed that it took a whole five minutes to import the data file (300 lines)
and, at the same time, KDE System Guard indicated exceedingly high CPU usage
(close to 100%). However, the import was successful.
Is this normal? Am I missing something that will hit back on me down the road?
Regards,
