* Curtis Rey (crrey@charter.net) [030321 23:34]: -> ->Ben, did you have to set the prefix and any other parameters/flags? Or did it ->do a config when you made the program. I'd hate to have my kde packages put ->into /usr/share like RH (which I just install v-8.0 psyche on my test sys... ->curious. Uh... bluecurve?). -> ->Anyway, if you can give me a few tips/heads up I'd appreciate it greatly! I just followed the instructions located here.. http://konsole.kde.org/konstruct/ There is a main config file for the whole build system. You can specify the prefix in this file and it just installs everything there. The one thing it's lacking is the ability to call something like checkinstall or another script to make rpm's. It basically compiles and installs everything but it does do it in pkg format. I just mv'ed /opt/kde3 to /opt/back.kde3 in case it totally screwed up..then I would just delete it and move the other back. I'm not worry as I'm going to take this box to 8.2 when it comes out and there better be KDE 3.1.x pkgs available for 8.2. :) Everything seems to work. The only issue I had was Kopete crashing when it tried to log into ICQ...it worked fine with AIM and Jabber but ICQ crashed it. But the as mysteriously as it died logging into ICQ..it started working and has since. I've restarted Kopete 6 times to make sure. *shrug* Could have been a hiccup on ICQ's network that it didn't like..who knows. All in all it wasn't that much of a PITA accept it took 12 hours on my little 800MHz Duron...I think the Athlon XP upgrade is in the future for me. :) latah. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org Tell me what you believe..
