You didn't tell us very much...

First choice ist to use the module in kcontrol to do that. You didn't mention 
if you tried this and if it failed.

Second choice is to edit the /opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc by hand. You 
didn't mention if you tried this and if it failed.

If you tried both and both failed, then check if you have a symlink from 
/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc to /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc, add 
it if needed and try the first choice again (see one of my posts some days 
ago).

In general, try to search the mailing list archives and if there's no 
solution, then give the list as much information as possible. That saves us 
from typing more then we need to.
