Thanks very much that got the link sorted out but I still have no joy.
When I start kpilot using a konsole window I get:
ralph@linux:~> kpilot

/home/ralph/.kde/share/apps/kpilot/DBBackup/Ralph F. De Witt/MemoDB.pdb

In Kpilot I see the following so I think the link is made:
Version: KPilot 4.3.6 (3_1_BRANCH)
Version: pilot-link 0.9.5
Version: KDE 3.1.0
Version: Qt 3.1.1
HotSync Log
12:27:50 HotSyncing. Please press the HotSync button.
12:27:54 Device link ready.
The Sync progress bar goes to 10%, after that the Palm unit throws up the
standard error The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop
could not be established Please check your setup and try again.
In Kpilot I have the following Active Conduits:
KDE Addressbook Conduit
KOrganizer Calendar Conduit
KOrganizer Todo Conduit
KPilot KNotes Conduit
Do you have any ideas what to try next? Thanks for your help so far.
