I have searched the kde.org but not found any reassuring documentation to help me.
The README in the directory at ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.1/SuSE/kde/ (a directory you passed through to download the rpm's) states # # KDE 3.1 for SuSE distribution # An upgrade will usually work with with these two commands: rpm -Uvh libart_lgpl*rpm rpm -Fvh *rpm That said, I ran into a couple of conflict problems so removed the offending rpm's (after noting their names and deciding I wouldn't miss them) with the command rpm -e "name of package" for example if the error said there was a conflict with someUnnededPackage-4.2-81.rpm then I used the command rpm -e someUnnededPackage-4.2-81 note that you do not want to include the .rpm extension. have fun -- dh Don't shop at GoogleGear.com!
