Right-click on the desktop -> New -> Link to a application.
A window opens.
In the first tab, choose a name for the icon and an icon.
In the second, do nothing.
In the third, type or select the name of the application.
In the fourth, do nothing (unless you want to link the application to a
particular file type).
That's it!
