On a similiar subject, what about doing the same to launch applications from the panel. I can see how to do it under kde2 if the application is in the menu, but what if it's not for some reason (e.g. gv and in my case mozilla) or I want to launch an app with a particular command.
Again, I can guess how to do this on the desktop, but I want to be able to launch applications from the panel.
On a related note, is it possible (in Suse 7.3, kde2) to perform the same operations on the tasks in a Windowlist as on a Taskbar. i.e. I can r-click running applications on the taskbar and get a menu of options including 'Bring to current desktop' and want to be able to do the same with the list of applications in the Windowlist. I want the advantages of the taskbar without cluttering it with applications from different desktops, basically.
Is there an embarrassingly easy solution or are these features maybe in kde3?
I know nothing of Windowmaker, so I won't help you there. For KDE 3, by "panel", do you mean "Kicker" (with the task bar, the system tray, etc)? In this case, it is easy. Creating the icon you want on the desktop and then drag it on Kicker, it will get integrated. Then you can remove the icon from the desktop. Or drag the icon directly from the menu to Kicker. - -- Thibaut Cousin E-mail : cousin@in2p3.fr Web : http://clrwww.in2p3.fr -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE9yMtVv1vqsTa1E4oRAlJKAKCl9RN1sWjyDLE+WGPgkKbdpTPlQwCfcx1Q o55pEwN+dFoEJIDZMKYXxD8= =giwb -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
