kinternet won't break the connection!

Hello.
I run Suse 8.0 and update as and when it is necessary. I have a peculiar
problem with kinternet. Although I click on stop and the connection seems to
be broken, kinternet then proceeds to re-connect. The only way that I can
break the connection is to log off and shut down. Any suggestions?
