The whole system just freezes (very randomly). Most of the times it does that in the first minute, after I've logged in with my default user account. It hasn't happened as root so far, but with every user account I've created.
Check file permissions on all files in the home dir and /tmp , making sure they are appropriate.
I did that and recognized that the link .Xresources -> .Xdefaults was owned by root, also group root. But could that possibly crash the whole system? Funny thing is that it really does not happen as root, but only as a normal user.
So if anyone has any other recommendations, I'd be very very happy...
