長尾です。
とりあえず、分かるところを先に書いておきます。
openSUSEはまだ初心者から少し先に出ようとあがいてる状態なので、的確な
答えになっているかどうか心配です。

個人的にはいい加減何かソフトを作ってみたい(そのためにmonoをインストー
ルしていますので)と思っています。

とりあえず、問題になりそうなところは、サスペンドとハイバネーション
、FNキーですか?
サスペンド、ハイバネーションは使わなければ問題ないとは思いますが、
FNキーはボリューム、画面の明るさの変更なので、結構影響がありそうで
す。(画面の明るさは外出時のバッテリーの問題、FNキーは外出時の音の
問題ですね)

VAIO も Fn キーはソフトウエア処理なんですね...(最近の
機種ってほとんどそうなのかなぁ)。せっかく軽くて持ち運び
に便利そうなのに suspend できないのはちょっと残念。
ボリュームは最悪 aumix とか kmix で何とかなったりします?

私はGNOME環境でインストールしているので(HP2133のときにイー・モバイ
との接続の関係でKDEではうまく接続できなかったため)ボリュームに関して
は、コントロールセンターのキーボード・ショートカットから設定して問題な
しになりました。
画面の明るさはまだ解決していません。
バッテリー動作にしても画面の明るさはかわらないんで、節電できません。

ちょっと使ってみた感想としては、

C7CPUのHP2133と比べると格段に軽いと感じる。
プリインストールされていたVistaと比べると比べ物にならない。

これは重量的に軽いというのと、動作的に軽いというのとどちら
でしょうか?

主に動作ですね。
本体サイズが特殊というか、小さいので、よくあるノートパソコンの向こう
側にものをおいてしまってどこに置いたっけ?がなくなったという利点はあ
ります。
重量的なものもありますね。一度TypePを持ってでかけてみましたが、持っ
ている感じがないというのはすごいですね。

ワンセグは、最初から無視してます。
あんまりテレビを見ないので、私もそれはまぁいいやといった
感じですが、検索してみると Linux でも見れるように頑張ってる
人たちがいるみたいですね。そのうち使えるようになるのを期待。

ワンセグは、必要ないのでしたらBTOでなしにしてしまえば店頭より微妙に
安くなると思います。(その分CPUを早いもので)
人気があるみたいで、納期がかなりかかるかもしれません。

気になる点などあれば(私が分かるレベルでしたらですが)テスト等は行えま
すので連絡ください。

個人的に気になってたところがいくつかあるのですが、お願い
しちゃっても良いですか?

- XMB キーの検出
- xev コマンドなどでキー入力を検出できるか試してみてほしいです

xevを起動して確認してみました。
XMBキーとその横にあるWindowを並べるボタン検出できませんでした。
試しに、FNキーの明るさ変更のボタン、ズームボタン、LCD/CRT切り替えボタン
も試しましたが、反応がなかったです。(音量だけは反応しました)

- ディスプレイの外部出力
(たしか本体から独立したアクセサリーになってましたよね)
- 電源 on 時からケーブルを挿しっぱなしにしておいてコンソールの
表示が映るかどうか、X 起動後映るかどうか
- startx 前に接続して X 起動後映るかどうか
- X 起動後、何らかのスイッチをトリガーにして映るかどうか
いずれも外でプレゼンテーションなどを行うことを想定して「使える」
かどうかが知りたいです。

- 有線 LAN
(これも上記と同様、本体から独立していた気がします)

すみません、別売りオプションで購入したのはアクセサリキットだけなんで、
これは確認できません。
アクセサリキットについてきたBluetoothマウスは認識して正常動作しまし
た。

- dmesg, lspci -v, lsusb などの出力
可能であれば YaST2 -> ハードウエア -> ハードウエア情報 の出力

dmesg, lspci -v, lsusbは添付します。


- バッテリ状態の検出
- kpowersave などでのパーセント・残り時間表示の可否
- /proc/acpi 以下のファイルで何か興味深そうなもの

kpowersave はKDE環境でインストールされるものだと思うので、GNOME
環境で、バッテリーの表示は正常に行えているようです。

あと既に試されているかもしれませんが、kernel の sony-laptop
モジュールをインストールすると Fn キーが使えるという情報も
あるので、試してみてほしいです。

あとで試してみます。

サスペンドとハイバネーションもカーネルのアップデートで動作
するようになったりしないかなー。

これは実際思いますね。
シャットダウンしたりするのはちょっと面倒なときもあるとおもいますし
ハイバネーションができればもっと便利なのかもしれません。
(電源がとれるところなら、ものすごい小さいACなので、持ち運んでも苦
にならないとは思います)

ちなみにつかっていて気がついたところがあります。

・システム時刻がずれる(今も10分ほどずれています)
・一度無線LANがいなくなった

このあたりはもう少し調査してみる必要があると思っています。

BIOS画面にほとんど項目がないんで、詳しい設定ができない(パワーマ
ネージメント系)のはちょっと悩みどころかもしれません。
