特に必要とは思いません :-)
が、かと言って必ずしも不要とも思いません。別に人に特に勧めようとも思いませんが…

個人用途と、仕事向けので両方３Dにして使ってますが、３Dの場合：
*描画が良い（Windowを動かした時のリペイントの時とかチラツキ感がない）
*CPUの代わりに一部GPUを使う？ので場合によっては動作が早くなる？(詳しくは知らない)
*慣れると便利（Desktop CubeとかApplication Switcher、Window thumbnailsとか…）
という所が理由でしょうか。

Mac使いの同僚に、マックみたいじゃん！、と言われた時はニヤリとしました ;-)
