I installed the Capi drivers exactly as described in the install_de.txt file provided by AVM.
I can connect to my ISP. Everything works fine.
Now here is my problem:
I disconnect from the ISP by using the disconnect feature of "KInternet" (right-mouse on icon in systray).
I log out.
I shut down (or restart) the system.
The system will shut down normaly until it gets to the point of unloading the ISDN drivers.
I guess that something goes wrong in /etc/init.d/i4l when called with "stop" arguement. I entered some "echo" commands to the script. The script stops at the following line:
$SBIN/isdnctrl delif $NETDEV
On the syslog i can find repeating messages:
"unregister_netdevice: waiting for ippp0 to become free" Usage count = 3
Known kernel bug. Since you use the CAPI drivers, you have 3 possibilities to fix the problem. 1. Use the pppcapiplugin and pppd for the internet connection. 2. Load a update kernel from our ftp server 3. use the attached patch and build a new kernel, to clone the exact kernel config use zcat /proc/config.gz >/usr/src/linux/.config, then you don't need to compile all modules, installing the new kernel is enought -- Karsten Keil SuSE Labs ISDN development
