Yes, it's a patch for openSUSE, that upstream doesn't want :/

I can't test all this, but in theory, the last selection should be
remembered, so even without defining a default, it should still work the
way you'd like it to after the first login.

But apparently there's a bug, and since I can't test this, it's not
really easy to debug...
