The splashscreen wont show, i have tried all the options in vga=ask
mode at bootmenu. It just changes the resolution for the text at
startup.
This isn't a GNOME issue - I would suggest you ask on the opensuse list
and maybe file a bug at bugzilla.novell.com - check it's not already
been submitted first of course.
