Hi

After all the discussions and bugs, we've decided to patch the volume
applet (the upstream one) to run the PA volume control instead of its
own one. Also, the volume applet is now in the default setup for the
panel, so this should solve the 'I want a simple volume slider' problem

The remaining issue is how to best offer access to the nice PA features
(like the speaker setup thing). Some options:

* leave padevchooser icon on the system tray. This might seem redundant,
since it offers the same features the volume applet offers (plus others,
of course), although it doesn't seem to disturb too much

* add menu items to the volume applet's menu to open the different PA
tools

any thoughts ?

I think the best solution would be to have left click be the volume control,
and have right click bring up padevchooser.
