That would be me. I didn't know that we were still applying them in
Pidgin - when I tried submitting them to gaim upstream (a long time
ago), I was told that the code I was patching would be completely
replaced.
Anyway, maybe they're not needed anymore?

That would be me. I didn't know that we were still applying them in
