Feature changed by: Sebastian Wagner (sebix) Feature #321407, revision 5 Title: Add support for dnscrypt and dnssec Requested by: Alfredo Amaya (alfre2) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: You need to add an third party repository to install dnscrypt and dnssec for encrypting and validating DNS queries. The main repository lacks both packages. Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: Encrypting DNS queries is an important step forward for improving privacy. It's a reliable and fast service nowadays and is becoming popular. Besides, DNSSEC acts as a complement ensuring the content of these queries. Right now there's an unofficial repository providing these packages: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/dns/openSUSE_42.1/ Discussion: #1: Marguerite Su (margueritesu) (2017-02-20 14:34:03) On behalf of server:dns repository maintainers: server:dns is an offical repository of openSUSE. so you can trust it. on Build Service, only the "home:" prefix indicates that repository is 3rd party. So the feature described is actually a finished one. If you want to include those 2 packages in repo-oss, you can just click the submit button on Build Service and select the submission target to openSUSE:Factory... personally I think keeping it in a development repository will receive updates and fixes quickly so you don't need to be limited to specific versions on released products. Anyway it's a just click and go thing. Marguerite + #2: Sebastian Wagner (sebix) (2017-02-20 17:17:57) (reply to #1) + But this would mean that it's not available as default. I would expect + that every current distro has this capability by default. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/321407
