Feature changed by: Karl Cheng (qantas94heavy) Feature #319717, revision 5 Title: yast-btrfs-maintainance module (conception) - openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed + openSUSE Distribution: New Priority Requester: Desirable - Package Wishlist: Unconfirmed - Priority - Requester: Important Requested by: Mikhail Kasimov (k_mikhail) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Hello! Removed from https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=953644 I'd like to offer the schema for, possibly, yast-btrfs-maintainance module, which combines btrfs settings by parsing matched conf-files and snapper window. Schema (first variation) and its summary are in yast- btrfs-maintanance.txt (attached in 953644 as dedicated file to avoid alignment fails - https://bugzilla.suse.com/attachment.cgi?id=654649). Preamble: I've not a pleasant experience of using btrfs (hdd was overloaded by snapshots and than I got kernel panic). Fortunately, it happend on vbox. I had no info how to define dedicated volume for snapshot storaging, how to schedule the period of taking snapshots (or even how to turn it on/off), how to define behavior when zypper updates\installs\uninstalls packages and so on. So, I made up the conception (hope, useful) of general btrfs- maintaining YaST module, which parses the matching btrfs' configs and incorporates maintaining of snapper database. And existed yast2-snapper module can be replaced\upgraded with this general module. Relations: - [Feature Request] Schema for, possibly, yast-btrfs-maintanance module (novell/bugzilla/id: 953644) https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=953644 Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: User/admin will have the unified module of all btrfs- settings, which are nowadays included in couple of dedicated conf- files. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/319717
