Feature changed by: Karl Cheng (qantas94heavy) Feature #316937, revision 3 Title: VPN YAST Module - openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed + openSUSE Distribution: Done Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: George Avram (vaseer) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: At the moment, yast lacks the means of easily setting up a vpn connection. I have been testing this with vpnbook's free vpn service, using the pptp version of it. I was unable to get that tunnel going under yast. In order to use it I had to actually switch from ifup to knetworkmanager. While this did do the trick, I was unable to use my virtual machines like this as knetworkmanager doesn't really support bridging. Use Case: Let's say I have VM's installed that I need to bridge or NAT to connect to the internet. However I also need to setup a vpn connection as it is a job requirement. I can't setup VPN in yast with ifup so I can't use that, but I can't switch to knetworkmanager because my VM's will then be disconnected from the network. Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: It would be really useful to have a simple yast VPN setup module, in which to receive live status updates (connected, disconnected, error etc.) and in which to be able to select the type of protocol used( openvpn pptp) and simply hit a connect button.(a verbose output box next to it is of course nice to see status) Kind Regards, Discussion: #1: Denisart Benjamin (posophe) (2014-01-30 17:45:38) I think add VPN support in Yast-network would be more logical -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/316937
