Feature changed by: Frederic Crozat (fcrozat) Feature #309930, revision 12 Title: Link GDM and KDM to their respective manual chapters openSUSE-11.4: Rejected by Jan Weber (japa83) reject date: 2013-07-16 17:05:15 reject reason: openSUSE 11.4 already released and out of support. Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Juergen Weigert (jnweiger) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Chapters from the opensuse userguide often directly map to specific software or procedures on the desktop. A user who wants help for GDM should have a simple way how to access chapter 1.1 "Logging In" of the gnome user guide. Same for KDE. A universal implementation would not be specific to GDM/KDM. Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: GDM sometimes shows menues at the bottom, sometimes not. A user needs these menus to e.g. switch between KDE and GNOME. The logic, when these menues appear is well documented in GNOME user guide. Having the relevant chapter handy, helps logging in and generally improves usability of the system. Discussion: #4: Juergen Weigert (jnweiger) (2013-09-20 19:39:43) Frank, the logging in chapter needs update, once we know which desktop (s) disappear. Jan, the requested linking in GDM needs a software engineer to work with us. If no software dev is assigned, we should rephrase this feature. + #5: Frederic Crozat (fcrozat) (2013-09-23 10:04:13) (reply to #4) + David Liang should be your point of contact for GDM. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/309930
