Title: PC tracking feature
openSUSE-11.3: Duplicate of #309369
+ Master status: Rejected by Andreas Jaeger
+ reject reason: Not done for 11.3. Nice idea but this should be a
+ separate project outside of openSUSE.
Priority
Requester: Mandatory
Requested by: ryan smith (ryan1414)
Partner organization: openSUSE.org
Description:
My feature request is to have a PC tracking feature so users can find
their PC if it gets stolen.
The iPhone has a feature like this so OpenSuse should too. It could
work by users going into Control Center and clicking on "Computer
Tracking" and then they type in their email address and choose when
they want the ip address of the internet connection sent to them, like
this: Find your lost or stolen computer: Your Email Address:
example@example.com (mailto:example@example.com) Send Location :
Never Once per
Hour Once per Day
If the computer has a GPS or wifi connected then those co-ordinates
could be sent too. It should support IPv4 and IPv6 ip addresses.
