- From: fate_noreply@xxxxxxx
- Date: Fri, 1 Apr 2011 16:47:46 +0200 (CEST)
- Message-id: <feature-312178-2@keeper.suse.de>
Feature changed by: Jos Poortvliet (jospoortvliet)
Feature #312178, revision 2
Title: Enhance events page in connect to be used for planning
openSUSE Infrastructure: Unconfirmed
Priority
Requester: Important
Requested by: Jos Poortvliet (jospoortvliet)
Partner organization: openSUSE.org
Description:
openSUSE ambassadors currently use a wiki page like this one
(http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:HCCLinuxDag2011) to collaborate.
However making one is a chore and for many ambassadors simply difficult
- neither their English nor their wiki fu make it very accessible to
them. However, connect is easy! It just misses the ability to make a
list of names & information, editable by anyone who attends: - who will
bring what materials? - who will arrive when and leave when? - who
needs travel support? - who will help with the booth? - who will give a
talk?
+ Relations:
+ - easier adding of comments to userpages on Connect (feature/id:
+ 312158)
Use Case:
If you organize an event, you need to coordinate a few things with the
others who come. Knowing that ppl "attend" is not enough!
You need to know if they will bring any; in what capacity they attend
(just visitor or help with the booth and/or give a talk); when people
arrive and leave; and if they need travel support so you can discuss
that with the openSUSE marketing team and/or the board/sponsors.
Business case (Partner benefit):
openSUSE.org: This negates the need for a wiki page for events and will
make it far easier for ambassadors to plan their events on openSUSE
infrastructure in a way that is visible to the outside world (eg
potential visitors or other ambassadors who could help)!
