Feature changed by: jpxviii jpxviii (jpxviii) Feature #307723, revision 5 - Title: MySQL version in 11.2 + Title: MySQL openSUSE Package Wishlist: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Manuel Trujillo (toomany) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: The MySQL version included into openSUSE 11.2 is the 5.0.67. I think it would be very interesting that the included version will be 5.1.38, because the InnoDB 1.0.4 plugin is included into it. Maybe, the two versions (5.0 and 5.1) were in the distribution (like Ubuntu/Debian). Use Case: Many companies, like us, use openSUSE for all our servers. Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: This would solve a lot because we would have a power optimal version for the company, within the openSUSE distribution. Thank you!! The MySQL version included into openSUSE 11.2 is the 5.0.67. That's wrong, it's 5.1.36.
#2: Manuel Trujillo (toomany) (2009-09-11 11:41:17) Mmm... Yesterday I was looking for it into the factory OSS repo, and the mysql version was 5.0.67. Maybe I doesn't looking at the right place... But equally, could we not put the version 5.1.38 instead of 5.1.36?I think the version 5.0 isn't too important if we have the last version optimally compiled with the 1.0.4 innodb engine (forever if there are a problem with the space occupied into the DVD). Thank you for your answer. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/307723
