- From: fate_noreply@xxxxxxx
- Date: Thu, 4 Feb 2010 20:55:23 +0100 (CET)
- Message-id: <feature-308930-6@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Feature changed by: Stratos Zolotas (elksi)
Feature #308930, revision 6
Title: Restricted Drivers Manager
openSUSE-11.3: Unconfirmed
Priority
Requester: Desirable
Requested by: Stratos Zolotas (elksi)
Partner organization: openSUSE.org
Description:
Restricted Drivers Manager (similar to Ubuntu's) for installing
proprietary drivers especially for graphics cards.
Business case (Partner benefit):
openSUSE.org: Installation of binary graphics cards drivers should be
more quick and simpler that the usual PMS approach. Also unreleased
drivers (like it happens for the new version of Ubuntu) should enter
the alpha and beta testing period. It will be a nice feature to provide
updates for this drivers as well, through the same Restricted Drivers
Manager.
Discussion:
#1: Jan Engelhardt (jengelh) (2010-02-04 20:19:40)
You don't have to do it via PMS. Use the KMPs instead, Luke! See
FATE#308936.
+ #2: Stratos Zolotas (elksi) (2010-02-04 20:55:01)
+ Enlighten me. I'm not getting it...
