Feature changed by: Maximilian Maher (maxmaher) Feature #306643, revision 14 Title: Include Midnight Commander on the LiveCDs openSUSE-11.2: Done Priority Requester: Neutral Projectmanager: Mandatory Requested by: Rastislav Krupansky (ra100) Description: According to requests on factory and kde mailing lists it would be useful for many people to include Midnight Commander on the LiveCDs by default. http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2009-07/msg00049.html http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kde/2009-07/msg00004.html + Test Case: + boot up LiveCD, search for Midnight Commander Discussion: #1: Robby Verberne (monkey9) (2009-07-03 16:52:54) Good to have MC. This is not a real 'voter'.. How to vote? #2: Robby Verberne (monkey9) (2009-07-03 16:56:16) (reply to #1) Me stupid, it is a puzzle! #3: Carlos Robinson (robin_listas) (2009-07-04 11:32:39) It would be usefull on all lives, including the rescue system #4: Dave Plater (plater) (2009-07-04 12:30:15) Definitely should be on live cds and rescue system #5: David Rankin (drankinatty) (2009-07-06 23:42:47) Agreed. mc is a "necessary" part of any live or rescue CD. It should be the "last" thing to throw out when CD space is a concern. For navigating and managing a box in "text" mode, noting beats the efficiency of mc to not only traverse the filesystem, but also to view, compare, edit, remotely connect via ssh, ftp, etc., select and operate on multiple files, the list goes on.... Pressing a Linux CD without it is almost as bad a forgetting to include the kernel :p #6: Stephan Binner (beineri) (2009-07-07 17:27:32) It has been added to the pattern: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2009-07/msg00097.html -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/306643
