No, gparted won't complain, but zypper does...
The only solution is to create an empty, mock btrfsprog.rpm, that satisfies zypper. rpm -i --justdb btrfsprogs-<version>.rpm zypper al btrfsprogs
Should work, until its dependencies require it be updated.
