I just installed `bat` which is basically like `cat`, but with syntax highlighting and such. When I run `zypper dup`, zypper wants to replace `bat` with `alsabat`. `alsabat` has absolutely nothing to do with `bat` lol... completley different functions. Both are from the Main OSS Repository.
bat:
Description : A cat(1) clone which supports syntax highlighting for a large number of programming and markup languages. It has git integration and automatic paging.
alsabat:
Description : BAT (Basic Audio Tester) is a simple command-line utility intended to help automate audio driver and sound server testing with little human interaction. BAT can be used to test audio quality, stress test features and test audio before and after PM state changes.
Because alsabat obsoletes bat <= 1.1.0 and bat is at 0.7.1 The obsolete comes from this alsa-utils change: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Wed Feb 3 18:04:00 CET 2016 - tiwai@suse.de - Rename subpackage from bat to alsabat due to the name conflicts with other projects bat just needs version number > 1.1 :) Greetings, Stephan -- Lighten up, just enjoy life, smile more, laugh more, and don't get so worked up about things.
