I never did that. In your first posts on which I answered you did never mention NetworkManager but "upstream". I spoke about "upstream", as you started with "upstream" which are glibc, bind, etc, but not some network configuration management tools only some people are using and are not even the standard tool. If "upstream" would change it, you wouldn't need /etc/resolv.conf as symlink.
