Now that we are done yelling at each other on this list, I have a question about fixing a packaging problem.
In https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1062967, the bug is that the VirtualBox guest kernel module only accepts kernel-default, but not kernel-default-base. As making that change exceeds my abilities with RPM packaging, can anyone suggest what I need to do, or point me to another package that handles this problem?
it is my understanding that this is controlled by the call to
%kernel_module_package
https://en.opensuse.org/Kernel_Module_Packages:
%kernel_module_package -p %name-kmp-preamble -x ec2 xen
The -p argument specifies additional rpm tags to be added to each kmp subpackage. The -x flag, if provided, requests the exclusion of these kernel flavors from the build. The reverse is omitting -x and just specifying flavors to which only build for.
As your current .spec file only specifies those flavors to exclude, I'm afraid the default-base flavor does not belong the the standard flavors to build. Perhaps you try to specify the positive way, ie. omit the -x and just specify the flavors to build for.
"default-base" is not a flavor in its own right, it is a subpackage of the "default" build; therefore, specifying -x default-base or (positive) default-base will have no practical effect. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
