Hi there, does anybody know why Gutenprint 5.2.12 still hasn't made it into Tumbleweed? https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1023424 [...]
Just follow the links :-) The bug mentions the submit request. In there it says "Request got declined, 5 months ago, Unless there is a need for static libs (and they be put into -devel-static), they should be removed."
The package itself is developed at https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/Printing/gutenprint and the latest submit request that went in was exactly fixing that issue: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/479243 but it seemed no one ever submitted it again to openSUSE:Factory. The bot obs-autosubmit at least did not do this, I don't know why. So I just created a submission now: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/514115
You can follow on in there what is happening.
In most projects the submission to factory is not done by a bot, when the maintainer accepts the request there is a box they can untick which means it won't be forwarded to factory, My guess is the maintainer decided not to forward that request to factory for some reason. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B
