How many people really care for running _Tumbleweed_ on ancient (<= i586) hardware?
Not many but there are some. It's a paradox: while there is no official i586 build of Leap 42.x (and there are no plans to change that in 15.x, AFAIK), it's still supported in Tumbleweed. So if you want i586 openSUSE, Tumbleweed is the only option, as strange as it seems. I also remember from earlier discussions that there are some who do not actually run 32-bit only hardware but decided that smaller memory footprint is worth the performance penalty.
