Thanks
I configured apper to only launch once a week as it was failing ever time it ran and i thought that would allow me to run zypper most times without a problem.
If i run "zypper ref -f; zypper ref -f" it still does asks for the confirmation even though apper has no real chance to run inbetween the 2 zyppers but if i run "zypper ref; zypper ref" its fine (i guess until there is an update in KDE Extra). I tried the "clean" options listed in the forum and that worked but didn;t cure the problem. Looks like uninstalling packagekit/apper is next

Of course there is always the option to find the bug and fix Packagekit. AFAIR the last big change was this "little" patch: https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/openSUSE:Factory/PackageKit/Pac...
