Hi
Is there any way to get this key to be permanent when select "trust always"? I can select "a", let "zypper up"do the updates and run "zypper ref" again immediately afterwards and the key needs confirming again.

This is a known issue. See e.g.: https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2017-04/msg00093.html https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/524002-KDE-update-quot-A-security... In this threads there are some suggestions, how to fix this. The one, that worked for me, was to uninstall Packagekit*.
