From time to time, it's necessary for breaking changes to be made to Tumbleweed, as well as other cases where broken updates slip through the cracks of openQA.
Would it be a good idea to set up a feed on the openSUSE website where notices of upcoming breakages and urgent fixes are provided?
This would be somewhat similar to the homepage of the Arch Linux website.
I agree, the factory mailing list can become quite active, so announcements for breaking changes can be missed or buried deep down a mail chain. For this reason, I like the idea of announcing these changes or caveats on a seperate channel. The most sensible thing would be I think to integrate this in the upgrade process directly (zypper or packagekit?), however I don't know if this is technically possible or feasable...
